Happiness and Health and Hello!!

I hope everything is well in America:)

But here in Cambodia, things are crazy, and fun, and happy, and basically the best ever. transfer calls came last night! im leaving StengMeanChey :/ i love these wards and these members and these investigators with all my heart. its been amazing serving here! but im headed to ToulTomBong to be a sister training leader with my new companion, Sis Sok. She's cambodian, but from america! Im so excited!

We had the COOLEST experience this week. One of our areas (we're over 3) is trash mountain. Its super poor and i love it with all my heart. theres this old lady, probably 65ish. and shes kinda crazy. her name is om gim. and we went to her home to teach her a quick lesson, and my comp stopped me right before we went in. and then my comp started translating for me. om gim was telling her mom about 2 girl missionaries that come to her house a couple times a week, and share about christ. and she can always feel our love, and feel the love of Christ whenever we come. and how every time we come, we help her with her wash, and hang up her clothes, and help clean her dishes. and how much she loves us. it was one of the most humbling things ive ever been a part of. its not very often we see the fruits of our labors. but this tender mercy from Heavenly Father reminded me once again whose work this is. And reminded me what a missionary should do. just show these people His love.

I love you all! have a great week!

another great week!

Hi Family! and Friends:)
This was another incredible week here! i love it with all of my heart. I have no time, but i wanted to share a quick experience with you all. This week we had exchanges. And we went with the vietnamese sisters-who dont speak khmae. which was kinda scary, because that meant i was in my area all by myself, teaching all by myself in a language which i am still trying super hard to figure out. lolz. but as we biked along, and talked to people, and taught lessons, i was able to communicate and understand everything that i needed to-more than i ever have before. and its not that i know this language haha.  but heavenly father truly helped me to be the kind of missionary he needed me to be for these people, and deliver the message they needed to hear. it was the coolest thing ever to experience the gift of tongues as i did everything by myself (because my comp for the day only spoke vietnamese). it was such a learning experience. God truly helps us as we do our very best. He makes up for our weakness. he makes what we can give, enough.
K i love you all! i hope you all have a great week! please pray for our investigator, Rhett Smei! Shes supposed to get baptized this week, but shes super nervous. just pray that shell feel peace, and not be scared! thanks!!

HELLO!!!

SOKSABBAY KLAANG NAH!!

what an incredible week. missions are the FUNNEST!!!

Every morning at 5:30 the alarm goes off and 150 missionaries in cambodia roll out of bed and onto their knees to pray and it is the beginning of another incredible day here. There are so many great things are happening in Cambodia. Im amazed to see how God's word truly goes forward to all people, in every country.

its been the best being with a khmae companion! i am learning so much khmae and how to live in cambodia. i bike down the allyways and im in love with it here. the sky, the roads, the motos, the markets, the language. its wonderful. We had an investigator, Ming Raa come to church! It was super awesome! She walked with her two little boys an hour to get there! she is super super awesome! please pray for her, and her family, that they will continue to see the blessings of the gospel in there lives, and want to make the sacrifice to continue to come unto Christ!

also, on another happy note. i made brownies on the stove-in a frying pan. who knew that was even a thing? and they were delicious!!!

We started a make up class this week! so i just got to do peoples make up for an hour and practice my khmae. it was super great! and we got an investigator from it! Srei Ni is awesome! she told us she wants to meet every day! so pray that she will continue to have the desire to come unto christ, even if that means change and sacrifice.

in cambodia, they have 3 seasons-the hot season, the wet season, and the windy season! (i actually believe theres just 2 seasons-wet and windy, and its hot all the time lolz)  i came for the last part of the hot season, and were beginning the rainy season! every day, around 4, it POURS!!! and often, we are out biking. i have never gotten so wet, so fast. this week, we got caught in a rainstorm, and didnt put our raincoats on fast enough, so we taught english class sopping wet. :) it was a party!

One of my favorite scriptures is alma 37:34. i love the phrase, "never be weary of good works". theres so much good to be done in this world-let us do all we can to help others. and then, what an amazing promise we are given-that "we shall find rest to our souls" super incredible. i encourage all of you to find more ways to never be weary of doing good, but to fill your life with good.

have a fantastic week! love sis smith

happy monday!

Wow. Mondays are super awesome! I love being able to have the opportunity to share with all of you the wonderful miracles and incredible experience i am having here in cambodia.

This week was incredible. One of my favorite things about the mission so far is seeing my investigators life change. weve been teaching this 25 year old girl. she has 2 kids, and lives with her husband and her parents. she supports all of them by working insane hours, because her husband uses the money from his job to drink and buy drugs. her daughter and her older sister died about a year ago, unexpectedly. the first time we met with her, she broke down as she opened up to us about her life. it was heartbreaking. she was so lonely and confused and sad and hopeless. we were able to share with her about Heavenly Father and his love. As we have continued to meet with her, its been wonderful to see hope and healing come into her life.

we also have this recent convert, srei nuen, that we taught and baptized about a month ago. she was learning with the sisters before i got here, and i remember the first time i met with her, she was this fun 17 year old girl that didnt super care about a ton of things-just liked to have a lot of fun. and now shes this stong young women who works in the primary and brings her neice with her and loves to meet with us.

The Atonement of Jesus Christ truly changes lives. I am in awe of how merciful and loving Christ is. He takes us wherever we are-if we have no hope, if we have no money, if we have no food, if we have the wrong priorities, if we have nothing or if we have everything, or whatever, and if we let him, he will turn our life into something incredible.

right now we are teaching bong tia ri and soom ali. please pray that they will be able to find a way to come to chruch! they live super far from the chruch, and dont have any transportation!

Have a great week!
